Afternoon Enrichment programs are available each day for ALL preschool aged children. Children do not need to attend DECC morning programs to be eligible for the Afternoon Enrichment programs.

Late pick-up is available to parents who need to pick up their children later than 2:45. The children are supervised by a teacher. Advanced sign-up and payment is required.

Crazy for Science
Friday afternoon science features hands on experimentation. It teaches the powers of observation, charting, and critical thinking while introducing the children to the wonders of science

Computers and More….
On Tuesdays, children play and have the option learn on computers, furnished and taught by an outside computer specialist.

Enrichment Adventures
On Wednesday afternoons children participate in special, activities planned around such themes as “Colors around the Globe,” “Mish Mash Art Fun,” “Celebrations of the World,” and “Art and Artists.” Each afternoon incorporates songs, games, stories, fine and gross motor play.

Team DECC
This Thursday afternoon sports and games class teaches children cooperation and fosters camaraderie while reinforcing listening and sequencing skills as children play, follow directions, wait their turns and become team players.

Stretch Your Skills (Kindergarten Prep)
Offered Thursday afternoons during second semester for pre-kindergarten children only, this class focuses on enhancing skills needed for kindergarten. This program begins in January.

What’s Cooking
Monday afternoon cooking classes create a warm, "homey" atmosphere where the children learn math and listening skills as they weigh and measure and take turns while creating delicious treats to eat.
